Inspiration for a Minimal and Elegant Warehouse Wedding
Two elements that really determine the vibe of your wedding day are your wedding venue and wedding dress. While you may hear that you have to find a wedding dress that “fits” your venue, we think that’s not necessarily true.
Firstly, you should pick a wedding dress that you love. Secondly, why not let your dress stand out against your wedding venue?
That was definitely the case for #annabebride Emily and Paul’s big day. And that’s exactly where this blog begins.
Restaurant Romance in Minneapolis, Minnesota
After meeting at a gym in North Loop, North Loop Alchemy, to be exact, Emily and Paul flirted throughout the summer of 2019. Finally having their first date at a European-market inspired restaurant, their romance became official.
Emily shares that The Lynhall is “where ultimately Paul proposed in 2021”.
Minneapolis, Minnesota Warehouse Wedding Venue
Whether intentionally or unintentionally, their proposal venue’s rustic-chic surroundings matched the couple’s modern warehouse wedding venue.
Selecting The Whim wedding venue in Northeast Minneapolis to host their nuptials, the industrial charm instantly resonated with their modern warehouse wedding vision.
Industrial Wedding Venue Ideas
Industrial ambiance is ample at The Whim. With details like brick walls, high ceilings, and large windows, it's the perfect venue for minimal and modern wedding celebrations.
To play off of the natural details, accents such as glass, metal, clay, and concrete can go a long way.
Emily and Paul used a variety of these materials when decorating their modern wedding venue. With details like neutral colored bud vases, acrylic chairs, glass candle holders, and more.
Elegant Industrial Wedding Decor
In an effort to contrast against the modern wedding touches, there were also all sorts of classic details.
Emily and Paul’s color palette was neutral, drawing from their whimsical wedding flowers and cloud-like floral installations that hung from the ceiling.
Metallic elements also added another elegant finish to their minimal wedding decor. Their dessert table included ornate silver platters and decorative glassware.
Displayed beside a shelf of glowing candles, every moment of their big day was undeniably romantic.
Contemporary Wedding Dress Ideas
Carrying the mixture of contemporary and classic into her wedding look, Emily opted for a statement lace bridal gown with a structured silhouette.
The clean lines of her Monique Lhuillier ballgown was accented by large floral lace appliqués and a custom bridal cape created by Legacy Bridal.
Wearing ‘Maeve’ by Monique Lhuillier and an ethereal wedding cape, Emily made it clear that classic wedding attire can absolutely combine with a contemporary warehouse wedding setting.
Visually striking, Emily and Paul’s minimal and modern warehouse wedding in Minneapolis, Minnesota was a work of art. By embracing the industrial charm of the venue and adding moody design details, these two curated a simple and sophisticated wedding aesthetic.
