real wedding: marissa + liam
You know that a ranch wedding held at the amazing Devil's Thumb Ranch in Tabernash, Colorado is going to be good. But when Marissa sent us her wedding photos taken by From the Hip Photo, we were completely blown away! Marissa and Liam's wedding was the perfect blend of elegance with just a touch of vintage flair. The juxtaposition of the glamorous chandelier with the rustic posts and rugged landscape as a backdrop for the ceremony was simply breathtaking. However, from the anna bé perspective nothing was more breathtaking than the bride. Marissa shone in the Bell gown by Augusta Jones perfectly styled with a custom sash and hair pins by Sara Gabriel. Love.
Our bride shared some of the inspiration and thoughts behind her wedding:
As Devil's Thumb Ranch is situated in such a beautiful setting, we didn't want to go over the top with decor and take away from the natural beauty of the given surroundings. I suppose the idea was 'effortless elegance,' even though attention to detail was very important when bringing the vision to life. It was imperative that everything tied together, from the flowers to the linens to the hues of the bridesmaid’s dresses and groomsmen’s suits. Delicate and neutral colors i.e. champagne, pale pink, blush, etc. served as the backdrop to most of the décor. Soft and twinkling lighting made up of candles, market and vintage lights, created a natural and comfortable glow. Each centerpiece was planned to stand unique on its own, yet included similar elements as to not create a total disconnect. As for the ceremony site, simple flowers in mason jars were tied with bows to the aisle chairs, and a delicate chandelier was used to add a bit of flair to a breathtaking background. Music selection was also very important and we spent at least six months compiling songs for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing! At the end of the day, every moment of our wedding day was thought about in one way or another which made the final culmination of events so memorable.
