Steal of the Week

OMG (Oh My Gown!) Steal of the Week | June 27

Bliss by Monique - #1115

If Kate Middleton were getting married in Napa, this would be her dress. I love the sheer lace cap sleeves with embellishment and little organza petals. The shirt is layers of gossamer-thin organza, giving what could be a very formal top a little lift! A little more modest, but still flattering and graceful, the look is truly timeless and looks as rich as a royal wedding, without being nearly as stuffy! Classic is as classic styles, and stunning simple pearls are the way we'd go to really turn up the volume on the traditional beauty!

Junko Yoshioka - Lisette

One of my favorite dresses of all time. Sophisticated, modern, chic, sexy, fun... I want to be a guest at the wedding where a girl is wearing this dress. It conjures images of Bob Mackie, or 50's Dior, with that true mermaid shape. The overlay with strong architectural lines, and two tone bodice and tulle flounce skirt feel really fashion forward (without being too trendy!) This dress is dying to be worn in an art gallery, or on the grounds of some mid-century modern house or a sculpture garden, it makes me think of the Contemporary in Honolulu. Hand made in New York by a designer only carried in a handful of shops around the world, it's a true couture gown and one of a kind! I love the idea of a statement dress being worn with a statement necklace!!! We layered three pieces together, all with golden shadow stones to play up the golden/ivory accents in the dress.

Augusta Jones - Dana

Classic and modern, traditional and fresh, Dana embraces both sides of the bridal spectrum, perfect for the quintessential Colorado bride: loving timeless tradition combined with ease and airiness. The full tulle skirt and hidden lace hem makes me think church wedding, but the flower cascade at the waist, shirred sweetheart top, and super delicate ribbon at the natural waist could transition well into an indoor/outdoor affair in the foothills. The interior corset provides structure and hold, but the look is all light and effortless. We left it clean and fresh, imagining it up on a mountain side, but with a lace veil and pearls, this dress would hold up even in the most formal venues. And for under $1000, it's truly a steal!!!
