Fall 2014 Market Trend Recap

october 2014

Ah, bridal fashion week! Having just returned from the whirlwind that is bridal market, I am bursting with inspiration from all of the gorgeous gowns our beloved anna bé designers have dreamed up for this season (well, that and all the bagels/pizza/cocktails consumed over the last 5 days. I truly wanted to pack up all of my favorites and bring them straight back to Denver to give our anna bé brides first pick!!

Over the past few years, we have seen some widely different trends in bridal--low backs, crop tops, illusion EVERYTHING, separates, and enough new designers on the horizon to make any bride dizzy with options. On the one hand, stylists and brides alike are embracing the evolution of the industry toward a more fashion-forward perspective. On the other, it makes it that much harder to find the BEST interpretations of these trends for our anna bé brides.

So, below are a few of my favorite trends from bridal fashion week, coming to Denver in Spring 2015!!

ballet inspired backs

The “low back” trend is still going strong for the moment, but this season we saw some refined iterations that we are absolutely loving. Trust me, your wedding guests and future children/grandchildren will thank you for this!!  Designers raised their backs just slightly to allow better fit and structure for the bodice of the dresses. Many adopted rounded scoops like you might see on a ballerina, creating an ethereal, romantic look that is to die for. My favorites were from Monique Lhuillier, Hayley Paige, Celestina Agostino, Lela Rose and Gemy Maalouf.

the evolution of beading (or, from bling!!! to bling)

This market we saw some seriously gorgeous beading from all of our anna be designers.  Rather than blinding you with bling, designers are using subtle beading to create texture and depth.  Embellishments are so delicate and romantic, often favoring neutrals and opalesque tones that truly let the bride be the focus of the look.  With a focus on casual elegance, it’s as if these gowns were MADE for our Colorado brides!  It's REALLY hard to pick favorites here for this trend, but here goes:
