Real Wedding - Breanna & Ben

In-season. It's not a word that I would usually use to describe a wedding. But this past September I had the joy of being a part of the wedding celebration of Breanna (owner of anna bé) and Ben (owner of MM Local). It was amazing: intimate, thoughtful, and yes, in-season. The food, setting, flowers, and colors were all at their peak. This attention to timing made the day extraordinary. It was a wonderful homage to a wonderful couple who together are at their peak.

Here's some snippets from the amazingly talented photographers James Christianson, Otto Schulze, and Jenna Walker Photography (because when you own a bridal shop you get to have an abundance of gorgeous photography) that tell part of this extraordinary day.

Let's start with the big question. What does the owner of a bridal shop wear???  The stunning dress that was eventually selected was The Grove by Lela Rose. {And from a completely unbiased opinion, Breanna looked gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous.}  The lace gown was understated elegance. The accessories were kept to a minimum, allowing the custom hair pieces from Sara Gabriel to shine.

Playing off the colors of the season, a metallic color palette of golds, silvers, and yellows were all mixed in to the day. The ceremony took place in the most idyllic aspen grove outside of Nederland. Although it's hard to plan a wedding around when the leaves are going to turn, the leaves were in full glory. Half of the fun was hoofing it out to the ceremony site led by a guitar strumming guest.

An aspen grove, a huppah in the middle of a field, guests walking out to the ceremony site, all before the reception? Sounds complicated, right? Well, to the guests and to the bride herself all of the elements came together rather flawlessly and in an easy fashion with the help from Calluna Events. From start to finish, Heather made the day happen and kept everyone stress free!

Following the ceremony, beers were poured and a spontaneous dance took place in the aspens. And then it was off to Boulder for cocktails and food.

Food was a big part of the equation. Again, now you have the owner of company that helps people eat local year round, so the food better be sourced right and taste darn good. The reception was at The Kitchen in Boulder and it delivered and then some.  The simple, artful cake and cheesecakes from Living the Sweet Life was delightful. And after a night of dancing, taking pics in what must be the most well-designed photobooth, The Traveling Photobooth, guests were given yummy favors from MM Local.

Perfection.
