Fancy Feet

As a bride, you know that there are countless ways to blow your wedding budget--unforeseen catastrophes, last minute details, odd requests by soon-to-be-in-laws to name a few:)   BUT!!  Ladies, please, we beg you, don’t let your wedding shoes be the victim of a busted budget!  Now, I’m not saying that everyone needs to use their wedding as an excuse to finally buy that phenomenal pair of Christian Louboutins that you have always wanted (disclaimer: I did exactly that).  All I’m saying is that you’ve invested too much time and energy into your wedding look to underwhelm in the shoe department.  After all, your shoes and jewelry are the ONLY things you can re-wear post wedding date!!  And, in case you were wondering, I wear my wedding shoes often and it always reminds me of my wedding!

My recommendations:

  • do your dress justice and spend at least 10% of the cost of your wedding gown on your shoes for the day.
  • if you’re worried about comfort, get a back up shoe (preferably a wedge)of the same height to change into if necessary.  Heels/wedges with a platform in front are a good place to start for your back up.
  • choose a style/color/fabric that you are positive you will wear again in the future (justify by cost per wear if necessary!).
  • if you’re not a heels girl, maybe your wedding day isn’t the day to start!  You can still rock an amazing pair of flats that you will wear for years to come.
