Budget Finds for Your Wedding from H&M and IKEA

Happy Shopping, Denver!

We've been waiting, praying, begging, and now we're getting two of our wishes granted this summer. Ikea and H&M are both making their Colorado debut this summer!!! It's design-driven, accessible, and stupid cheap all with a Euro sensibility, brilliant!!!

So, what does this have to do with weddings? Well, I know how quickly budgets can get out of hand, or how much you loathe asking your friends to shell out more dough to come join you for your big day. So, here are a few ways to incorporate some low budget, high impact items into your day, courtesy of our new retail havens. Come on Trader Joe's, you're next!

Bridesmaids Gift Bag
I love the idea of these brightly colored gifts for your maids, with items like these fun, geometric post earrings and neon colored thongs. Assign each girl a color, or give them a grab bag of options in a bright colored tote.

Deck Them Out
H&M has a great wrap dress with a skinny belt that comes in both a pinky red and great charcoal, and what a perfect casual bridesmaids dress it could be! Or maybe just a rehearsal dinner dress for you. And I own a couple H&M blazers, they're great options for guys who want something stylish that can work into their everyday wardrobe. You could buy them an entire fashion forward look for less than renting a tux!

Tablescapes
Ikea is so great for nik-naks, doo-dads, all other little goodies. I think the little ivory lattice looking flower pots would be great for your floral arrangements, or with candles, jelly beans, and lots of other stuff! Colorful glass bottles could be set with still and sparkling water at each table, or filled with custom-made sodas. And the milk jugs are so sweet, I'd love them for ice cream toppings at a dessert bar or filled with a baking recipe and ingredients as a favor.

Speaking of favors, I think a gorgeous, high-end candle (like Diptyque) wrapped in a simple home-spun looking tea towel and tied with gross-grain ribbon looks so thoughtful, and much more expensive than it is.

Lighting
And finally, check out these great "pillow" shades... sort of an update on the chinese latern. I imagine them by the dozens, adding a soft glow to a room with a modern, cozy twist!

Best of all, none of the accessories on this entire list are over $10, the dress $35, and the most expensive item (the blazer) under $70! No need to break the bank with finishing touches, we've got two retailers who've got you covered. Welcome to Colorado Ikea and H&M, we're coming shopping!
