The 12 Palates of Christmas - #4

#4 - O Holy Night

The nighttime sky can be an inspiration as well. Think those cold, crisp nights, where the stars seem alive without a cloud in the sky. The air almost crystallizes and your breath is like a puff of smoke every time you exhale. The execution of this may not look like everyone's idea of Christmas, but it'll be just as dazzling. The ground color should be midnight blue or super saturated eggplant. Keep silver details very light and sparse, use details in smoke gray and cloudy crystal, then hire a great lighting designer to really highlight special moments in the darkness.
